About Chiropractic

What is Chiropractic?
- Health care based on the diagnosis and manipulative treatment of misalignments of the joints (especially those of the spinal column), which are believed to cause other disorders by affecting the nerves, muscles, and organs of the body.

What are the Health Benefits of Chiropractic?
- Decreased pain in your neck, back, shoulders, and entire body!
- Reduce drug use and dependency.
- Improved range of motion and movement.
- Improved overall health and well-being.

Who can Utilize & Benefit from Chiropractic?
- You!
- Your entire family!
- All ages. From a few days old to 100+!
- Athletes of all sports & activities.
- Chronic & Acute pain sufferers
What is a Subluxation?
- This is the chiropractic term for a misalignment of two bones. It is dysfunction of the skeleton (typically spine) that can have negative affects directly on the nervous and muscular systems, and indirectly on the rest of the body. This is what Dr. Bechtel adjusts!

What is an Adjustment and does is Hurt?
-An adjustment is the "push" a patient feels. Dr. Bechtel uses his knowledge and expertise to introduce a force into the joint at a specific angle and direction to achieve a change in your skeletal alignment.
- Most adjustments are very gentle with minimal to no pain. In some occurrences an adjustment may cause some pain which disappears within 24-48 hrs.

What is the "Snap/ Pop" I hear?
- Chiropractors call this a Cavitation. When there is a sudden change in pressure, this can cause a "popping" sound. While satisfying to hear, it is not required for an adjustment to occur. Some visits make no sound at all!
